SHA-3 competition winner



On October 2nd 2012, NIST  announced Keccak algorithm as the winner to become the new SHA3 hash algorithm
According to its announcement statement, NIST has chosen Keccak for its elegant design, large 
security margin, good general performance, excellent efficiency in hardware implementations and for its flexibility.
Keccak can produce hash of size of 224, 256, 384 and 512 bits.
